Blogs – ‘oh so yesterday?’

Posted: October 29, 2011 in Blogs

Starting a new blog is more difficult than I had thought. First: you really run out of steam and all… then you lose the patience, the ‘flow’ and stuff. Whenever I read my earlier posts on the rediff graveyard, I feel they all reads like crap, if you know what I mean. But one needs to restart somewhere, so why not that ‘somewhere’ be here.

While writing this, I am so reminded of one old blogger- Dee Vine- from the debunked rediffiland. In her last post on rediffiland, she says this.

Blogs Bollocks

Blogs are so 2004.

FB, Twitter & FlickR have taken care of all the exorcism people ever needed.
We can bark our views and get instant attention / feedback in 120 characters or less.

So who’s still blogging, I beg.

Did a random search on google blog search and a few brave & perseverent are slogging it out. Whoa!

What Dee Vine wrote there rings true in many ways. 124 characters on twitter are enough to start all the self-respecting controversies these days. seems she got it right.

And yeah, sometimes blogs do seem ‘so yesterday’.

The old rediffiland was crap in many ways, and the ‘grand transformation’ did not help much really– stolen blogs, displaced blogs, false identities and god knows what else. But I guess it was destined to be that way. As of today, if I look at rediff.com I feel the portal itself has gone to the dogs. Not to talk about the legendary rediff discussion forums  [Recomended reading]. Sheer awesomeness! Brain-deadgiri at its best.

All said and done, just the way people claim they do not forget their first love. I don’t think I will be able to forget the debunked rediffiland platform. It was wonderful as long as it lasted. That innocence was way too cool.

I am trying to be back again, like many of my old blogger pals.

Let’s be honest and face it, FB, twitter and all- they really suck!  Come on babes and dudes, I am not too sure how many people really want to know what you had for breakfast!

So I try again. The good ol’ blog.

But this time I am kinda determined to give it a try. So many things to yap about. And I think I am back. Some WTFness and some fun.

Hope so.
